Thank you for your interest in membership in the Upper Midwest Translators and Interpreters Association (UMTIA). Here you’ll find information about our various membership levels and costs.
Our membership year starts in January. Joining later in the year means that your membership will become due again on January 1 of the following year. Have questions about membership types or fees? Please contact the membership director at memdir@umtia.org.
Membership Fees (by calendar year)
1. Individual ($40/yr): Any person at least eighteen years of age who (1) is professionally engaged in translation and interpreting or closely related work; or (2) desires to further our mission and the field.
2. Institutional ($60/yr): Institutional membership is open to any nonprofit organization (academic, healthcare or otherwise) in the Upper Midwest area with an interest in the translation or interpreting professions. Membership shall be in the name of the institution, not in the name of the individual. Individuals associated with an institutional member may qualify as members in other classes in their own right.
3. Corporate ($80/yr): Corporate membership is open to any for-profit organization (business, firm, agency or otherwise) in the Upper Midwest area with an interest in the translation or interpreting professions. Membership shall be in the name of the organization, not in the name of an individual. Individuals associated with a corporate member may qualify as members in other classes in their own right.
