DESCRIPTION:

This workshop will explain in detail the process of organ acquisition and distribution, emphasizing the conversations held with families of donors and the terminology used. It will include working with glossaries and documents for sight translation in small groups.

PRESENTERS: 

Kristi Roers, Jessica Pacheco and Isabella Briggs

The presenters are staff from LifeSource 
LifeSource is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives through organ, eye and tissue donation in the Upper Midwest. 

Kristi Roers is a LifeSource Clinical Hospital Coordinator working exclusively with Hennepin HealthCare. Kristi is a Certified Emergency Nurse. Her current emphasis is in building relationships with hospital partners and frontline staff to educate and share the opportunities that patients and families have to save the lives of others through the gift of donation.


Jessica Pacheco
is a LifeSource Clinical Hospital Coordinator who works primarily with Regions Hospital and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. She has worked for Be The Match, focusing on hematopoietic transplantation in clinical case management. She is a certified hematopoietic transplant coordinator.


Isabella Briggs
has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the U of New Mexico. She is a Donation Coordinator and Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator.
