Wordfast: Translation Memory Tool Training

Join us to learn how Wordfast Pro 5 will increase your productivity with its new features! The aim of this roadshow is to introduce Wordfast Pro 5 to both new and current users. The event consists of two workshops followed by a networking opportunity. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on practice using Wordfast Pro 5 and network with colleagues.

Attendees will be able to purchase the software with a $110 discount. 

Cost & Registration
This event is organized by Wordfast and sponsored by UMTIA.
The cost to attend is $15 in advance, or $25 at the door. UMTIA members receive a $7 discount. Registration is directly with Wordfast:

Continuing education points
This event has been approved by the American Translators Association (ATA) for 2 continuing education points.

 Roadshow Objectives
By the end of this roadshow, you will be able to use Wordfast Pro 5 to: 
• Create and organize your translation projects
• Create or import linguistic assets (TMs and glossaries)
• Perform a translation and generate a target file
• Perform advanced quality control 

 Program
5:00-5:30 pm : Welcome
5:30-6:30 pm : Demo and training for new users
6:30-7:15 pm : Workshop and Q&A for current users
7:15-8:00 pm : Networking and refreshments

Technology Preparation
Attendees should download Wordfast Pro 5 and a trial license beforehand and bring personal laptops to the workshop.

 About the Trainer
John Di Rico began translating in 2005 and specializes in marketing translation from French to English. He currently works as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Wordfast and runs a small translation business called ApexTra. He is a member of the French translation professional association (Société Française des Traducteurs) and has an MA in Translation and Localization Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). 

 John has been offering professional training for translators since 2006. He has taught more than 500 translators how to use Wordfast. In 2010-2011, John traveled around the world, training more than 75 translators in 15 countries, including translators at the United Nations Mission to East Timor.
