Based on feedback from the Secondary Traumatic Stress and Compassion Fatigue workshop in March, UMTIA will be sponsoring an interpreter support group twice a month for a 3 month trial run.

Facilitator: Christopher J. Mehus, PhD, LAMFT, University of Minnesota (the presenter in March)

Dates:  The first Thursday and the third Saturday of each month.

Saturdays
10 am – noon
9/19, 10/17, 11/21
Minneapolis Central Library
Mark E Johnson Conference Room, N202
300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN

Thursdays
6 pm – 7:45 pm
10/1, 11/5, 12/3

The first half of the session will teach skills for identifying and processing traumatic stress and compassion fatigue, the second half will include open discussion time.  Interpreters may come for all or part of the session.  There is a suggested donation of $5.  Interpreters are encouraged to register so we know how many facilitators to have, but walk-ins are welcome.
