The job outlook for interpreters and translators is bright, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. More than 68,000 people are employed as interpreters and translators in the U.S., and 12,100 more of these jobs were projected to be added between 2016 and 2026. That’s a growth rate of 18 percent — far greater than the 7 percent average growth rate across all occupations, according to the bureau.
