U.S. National Labor Board Hits SOSI Where It Hurts

All over the country, U.S. language companies have feared the dreaded labor audit. SOSI got one. And they lost.

SOSI is the huge company that sends in almost all of the interpreters for U.S. immigration courts. A judge in Washington, D.C. slapped SOSI with penalties and back taxes for “misclassifying” contractors as employees. The judge also said that SOSI illegally fired interpreters for organizing, in a violation of the National Labor Relations Act.
