Wordfast Pro 5 Roadshow
Join us to learn how Wordfast Pro 5 will increase your productivity with its new features! The aim of this roadshow is to introduce Wordfast Pro 5 to both new and current users. The event consists of two workshops followed by a networking opportunity. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on practice using Wordfast Pro 5 and network with colleagues.
This event is organized by Wordfast and sponsored by the Upper Midwest Translators and Interpreters Association (UMTIA). The cost to attend is $15 in advance, or $25 at the door. UMTIA members receive a $7 discount.
This event has been approved by the American Translators Association (ATA) for 2 continuing education points.
By the end of this roadshow, you will be able to use Wordfast Pro 5 to:
- Create and organize your translation projects
- Create or import linguistic assets (TMs and glossaries)
- Perform a translation and generate a target file
- Perform advanced quality control
- 5:00-5:30 pm : Welcome
- 5:30-6:30 pm : Demo and training for new users
- 6:30-7:15 pm : Workshop and Q&A for current users
- 7:15-8:00 pm : Networking and refreshments
Attendees should download Wordfast Pro 5 and a trial license beforehand and bring personal laptops to the workshop.
About the Trainer
John Di Rico began translating in 2005 and specializes in marketing translation from French to English. He currently works as the Sales and Marketing Manager for Wordfast and runs a small translation business called ApexTra. He is a member of the French translation professional association (Société Française des Traducteurs) and has an MA in Translation and Localization Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS).
John has been offering professional training for translators since 2006. He has taught more than 500 translators how to use Wordfast. In 2010-2011, John traveled around the world, training more than 75 translators in 15 countries, including translators at the United Nations Mission to East Timor.

For UMTIA’s 2017 Conference
Prepare yourself for a day full of education, networking, and great fun!
Throughout the day, there will be multiple presentations that appeal to legal, healthcare and education interpreters as well as translators. The day will be split into two tracks, and you will always have the option of choosing which of the two presentations you would like to attend. The University of Minnesota will be hosting and we’ll be at the Carlson School of Management. We hope to see you there!
Registration opens on October 1st, 2017. Conference is Saturday 11/11 from 8:00am-4:30pm and will include 6 CEUs.
