Opportunity for Spanish Interpreters in the Twin Cities Area

Information for prospective study participants

 Who: Spanish-speaking interpreters who meet one the following criteria:

  • Completed at most a short (40 or 60 hours) training course (this does not count general-attendance continuing education workshops such as those offered by UMTIA or ISG) and have less than 200 hours interpreting experience


  • Have a college-level certificate or degree in interpreting and at least 5 years’ experience


  • fill out a demographic questionnaire
  • interpret a simulated interpreting encounter (approximately 20 minutes)
  • complete an interview with the researcher immediately after interpreting (approximately 30 minutes)

Where: Century College, White Bear Lake, MN

When: On an evening or Saturday, agreed between you and the researcher.

All participants will receive a $20 gift card as a thank you for their participation
